The Universe, Racism, and Eyesight

Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears,
the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through
which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.−Alan Wilson Watts

We inhabit a finely tuned corner of the cosmos, and now we witness entropy encroaching upon our order. Chaos threatens to dismantle everything—buildings will crumble, loved ones will pass, and power will falter. It’s a tragic irony if the culmination of evolution leads to racism. What toxicity festers in our perceptions that has brought us to this precipice? What societal ailments remain unaddressed by our collective action?

Must we conclude that our only moments of appreciation lie in the past? Have we missed our chance for a future worth living? Because with our present mindset, we certainly won’t be populating Mars with blatant racism.

It’s absurd that we allow the universe to dictate our perceptions of skin color. Skin tone has no inherent connection to our eyes; one does not depend on the other. Without eyes, the issue of racism would vanish. We cannot hear, smell, taste, or physically feel skin color; it is purely a construct imposed upon us through our perceptions.

Yet, racism continues to tear the world apart, creating a modern-day Salem where the pitchforks have transformed into the gaze of judgment. How can these two small "windows to the soul" wield such destructive power? How do our eyes, which could guide us from a dark past to a brighter future, trap us in the shadows of our current reality?

Are we treating our eyesight as a mere novelty, something that exists apart from our essence? But we are more than that; we are the order within chaos. We are miraculous beings, navigating the fulcrum of existence. Each of us is alive, facing the inevitability of entropy. Governed by the second law of thermodynamics, we exist in a universe that has cooled into randomness, yet life persists against all odds.

This myopic dystopia isn’t a new idea; it’s the reality we face today. How does "today" feel? How confident are you in anything? What would you say if you knew you wouldn’t be silenced? What if the world was listening and asking for help?

What if racism is the world’s cry for remedy? What if it symbolizes the end of our collective journey? Could a mere shift in time have altered our fate? Imagine a world without distractions. If you could focus, what would you do with this superpower?

The purpose of life is for the universe to recognize itself through creation. It is about seeing and interpreting, and that purpose is embodied in you. Yes, you are the universe's desire to understand itself. The same goes for me.

We must believe in the possibility of living together peacefully. The answers must exist within the universe. Isn’t it peculiar that the intricate evolution of our ability to detect light—the development of the human eye—has led to this destructive cycle? Life should be about self-discovery, not self-destruction.

Is racism a dead end? A fundamental law of nature? Why would the universe create eyes only to doom itself through their perception?

It cannot culminate in the burning flag of racism. This form of hatred is more perilous than nuclear war, as anyone can become an agent of destruction. It chokes rational thought, distorts reality, and blinds our conscience. In this haze, we lose our way on the universal path to a better future for all. We find ourselves mired in debris, lost in the detritus of our own making.

No religion offers a safe harbor from this turmoil. The eyes can be cleansed by tears, and as humans, we have the option to cry. In acknowledging our pain, we can begin to heal. Only then can we strive toward a more enlightened existence, one where we recognize the beauty in our differences rather than allowing them to divide us.
