Anne Bronte (writing under the pen name Acton Bell). I have to say, I am a fan of the simple prose this novel is written in - simple, but not simplistic. It is conducive to producing such beautiful, lasting nuggets of gold such as “What business had I to think of one that never thought of me?”
Characterized by copious violent action, the novel is essentially a travelogue,telling a tale of a journey and various encounters on that journey, that don’t always have an explicitly defined plot.
